Cathy Krier
The Jury deciding upon a grant for a concert tour by a young Luxembourgish musician has given this financial aid to the pianist Cathy Krier, who currently plans the organization of a concert tour in Japan in 2015/16. Born in Luxembourg in 1985, Cathy Krier began taking piano lessons at the Luxembourg Conservatoire at the age of five. In 1999 she was admitted to Pavel Gililov’s masterclass at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has performed internationally and recorded several CDs. Cathy Krier has been chosen “Rising Star” by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) for the season 2015/16.

« Après délibération, le choix du jury s’est porté à l’unanimité vers la candidature de Cathy Krier pour une tournée au Japon dans le cadre de la promotion de ses deux derniers enregistrements avec des œuvres de Jean-Philippe Rameau, Leos Janacek, Alban Berg, György Ligeti et Franz Schubert. Choisie par la European Concert Hall Organisation en tant que Rising Star pour la saison 2015/2016, Cathy Krier est l’une des talents les plus prometteurs de sa génération et incarne à merveille la nouvelle scène musicale luxembourgeoise. Une tournée au Japon en 2015/16, encadrée par Eurassic et King Records ne peut que servir au développement international de sa carrière. »
