After the result of the Chopin Competition was published, a number of people reacted, saying that a jury must be neutral! However, the winners of the six awards and several special awards are studying or have studied with members of this year’s Jury.
The winner of the First Prize, Bruce Liu, and the winner of the Sixth Prize, JJ Jun LI Bui, are students of Jury member Dang Thai Son.
The winner of the Fourth Prize, Jakub Kuszlik, is a student of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń (Jury Chair).
Kyohei Sorita, winner of the Second Prize, is a student of Jury member Piotr Paleczny.
This is certainly nothing, the Competition should be proud of.
