Christoph Gedschold
German conductor Christoph Gedschold, 46, the music director of the Leipzig Opera, has been appointed as chief conductor of the Copenhagen Phil from the 2024/25 season.
In 2002 Gedschold became Kapellmeister and Korrepetitor at the Theater Luzern. In 2005 he assisted Ulf Schirmer at the Bregenz Festival and moved to the Staatstheater Nuremberg. In 2009 he was appointed first Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe. From 2015 he was Kapellmeister at the Leipzig Opera, and since August 2022 also Music Director.
