The reopening of Cincinnati’s Music Hall is scheduled for Oct. 6, after a 16-month, $135 million. In the 19th century building, the huge Springer Auditorium has been turned in a modern and comfortable concert hall.
The stage was extended 12 feet out into the auditorium and the number of seats has been cut by around 900 (from the original 3.500).
Fifteen acoustic ‘clouds’ have been fixed over the stage. The Cincinnati Symphony posted the following quote from Music Director Louis Langrée on Facebook: « The acoustic improvements of the renovated Music Hall are amazing! The sound of the orchestra is warmer than ever, mixed now with wonderful clarity and presence. »
