In 2013/14, the Cleveland Orchestra will more than triple the number of free concerts for youngsters. Instead of 14, the orchestra will make available 46 concerts under its popular ‘Under 18s Free’ program. The kids enter for free accompanied by one paying adult.
Included in the stretched offer are all Family and Musical Rainbows concerts, Friday and Sunday Matinees, Friday evening concerts, and performances by the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and Chorus. ‘Under 18s Free’ was launched in 2011 and is made possible thanks to a $20 million gift from the Maltz Family Foundation. Up to this year, it has attracted some 56,000 young listeners.
