After wandering through various halls in the French capital, the Orchestre Colonne will finally take a residency at Salle Wagram, not so far from Pleyel, where it used to play before that hall was stupidly closed to classical music.
The residency will start with the 2016/2017 season and bring the orchestra and its chief conductor Laurent Petitgirard to play two concerts instead of one, since Wagram has only 750 seats, while Pleyel is twice as big.
With Colonne, Wagram will have a rebirth as concert hall since nowadays it is mostly used for congresses and conferences. It was at Wagram where Karajan made all his recordings with Orchestre de Paris.
