French and foreign composers residing in France have launched the process of creating a Federation whose missions will consist in particular in participating in the reflection on the status of artists, authors (composers, visual artists, writers, etc.), contributing to the recognition and structuring of the latter, ensuring the action of the public authorities and the place of this music in the public and private media and disseminating these repertoires to the widest possible audience. The composers, among them all the well-known names of France, have announced this in an open letter addressed to La Lettre du Musicien.
They must not be fully satisfied with the activities of the French section of the International Society of Contemporary Music, nor with SACEM, IRCAM and the Centre de documentation de la Musique Contemporaine, among others.
