Organized for Cello and Oboe, the 2021 Geneva Competition has announced the laureates. The Final Round of the 75th Geneva International Music Competition, section oboe, took place last night at Victoria Hall, in Geneva, Switzerland. Finalists Natalia Auli (26 years old, Venezuela), Louis Baumann (26 years old, France) and Zhiyu Sandy Xu (28 years old, Australia) were all awarded Third Prize ex aequo. First and Second Prizes were not attributed by the Jury. Venezuelan Natalia Auli was widely acclaimed by the audience, winning Audience Prize, Students Prize and Young Audience Prize.
Japanese cellist Michiaki Ueno won 1st Prize of the Geneva Cello Competition 2021. Canadian Bryan Cheng won 2nd Prize. Korean Jaemin Han was awarded 3rd Prize.
