Dan Ettinger
The chief conductor of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and General Music Director of the city of Stuttgart, Dan Ettinger, 50, will become Direttore Musicale of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples in January 2023.
Ettinger’s agency and the opera house announced that he has been named at this position following successful productions as guest conductor. This does not affect his position in Stuttgart.
Dan Ettinger was born in Israel. He has been the music director of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra since the beginning of the 2015 / 2016 season and the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv since 2018. He was music director of the Nationaltheater in Mannheim from 2009 to 2016 as well as principal conductor for the Israel Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
