The young Korean conductor Deun Lee was awarded First Prize at the International Competition of the Plovdiv Opera, which took place at the Boris Christoff State Opera in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The competition took place already in September, but the news came only today, a month late.
Deun Lee studied in Milan (Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi) and Florence (Florence Conducting Masterclass). He has now been appointed Assistant Conductor for a one-year contract at Plovdiv Opera.
The competition was organized by Plovdiv National Opera in conjunction with Artes Association and had more than 120 applicants.
