Emmanuel Krivine, recently appointed Music Director of the Paris based Orchestra National de France, is the first French conductor to lead this orchestra since Jean Martinon (1968-1973). When he conducted the orchestra in September 2015, he thought the chemistry was good enough to go for the job.In an interview on Radio France Musique, Krivine said, the ONF had changed a lot and became much more disciplined. He also said, he himself had changed: « Fortunately, I hope to reach the end being not as much a jerk than at the beginning. It’s normal, I believe. » (« Heureusement que j’essaye d’aller vers la fin en étant un peu moins con qu’au début. C’est normal, j’espère »).
