A coronavirus infection outbreak has occurred at La Scala in Milan. Thirty-five ballet dancers and three members of the ballet management have tested positive for the coronavirus, the Milan theater announced in a press release. The ballet’s activities had already been suspended Feb. 26 after a positive case was reported among the dancers.
Tests conducted among orchestra and chorus members yielded negative results. Thus, the symphonic concert scheduled for tonight under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung, to be streamed by RAI Cultura, was confirmed. Chung will conduct Haydn’s Symphony No. 44 and Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
