Cyrille Dubois singt auf dieser neuen CD ein barockes Repertoire, das die Stimme eines Haut-Contre verlangt. Haute-Contre ist ein hoher Tenor (mit Mischstimme), nicht zu verwechseln mit dem Countertenor, einem Falsettisten.
Das Programm enthält auch reine Instrumentalstücke, die vom Orfeo Orchester sehr lyrisch und angenehm opernhaft gespielt werden. In den Szenen mit Chor bringt der Purcell Chor zusätzliche Farben, so dass, aufs Ganze gesehen, ein sehr attraktives und abwechslungsreiches Programm zustande kam.
Cyrille Dubois hat eine große Affinität zum barocken Repertoire, er findet stilistisch immer den richtigen Ton, singt mit großer Raffinesse und perfekter Artikulation. Seine Stimme ist leicht und flexibel, mit wunderbar reiner Höhe und einem großen Ausdrucksreichtum.
On this new CD, Cyrille Dubois sings baroque repertoire that demands the voice of a haute-contre. Haute-Contre is a high tenor (with a mixed voice), not to be confused with the countertenor, a falsettist.
The program also includes purely instrumental pieces, played by the Orfeo Orchestra in a very lyrical and pleasantly operatic manner. In the scenes with choir, the Purcell Choir brings additional colors, so that on the whole, a very attractive and varied program was achieved.
Cyrille Dubois has a great affinity for the baroque repertoire, always finding the right tone stylistically, singing with great refinement and perfect articulation. His voice is light and flexible, with wonderfully pure high notes and a great richness of expression.
