After 16 years of serving as Associate Artistic Director of the Savannah Music Festival (SMF), Danel Hope has decided to step down at the end of the current season. He will be succeeded by the violist/conductor Philip Dukes.
Hope says, due to his commitments as Music Director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and San Francisco’s New Century Chamber Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Frauenkirche in Dresden and his worldwide touring schedule, he has decided to reduce his international traveling.
The Savannah Music Festival in Savannah (Georgia, US) is the largest musical arts event in Georgia, featuring more than 100 productions over the 17-day festival each spring.
