American-Korean conductor David Cho has signed a contract extension through the 2026-27 season as Music Director of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Texas.Cho began his tenure during the 2012-13 season.
Prior to his move to Lubbock, Cho served as associate conductor for the Utah Symphony in Salt Lake City from 2006 to 2011. He served as the Resident Conductor of the San Antonio Symphony from 2004-2007.
Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to the U.S. in 1985.
