The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announced that its free concert, Salute to America in Orchestra Hall, scheduled for Sunday, July 4 has been cancelled due to the flooding of their hall.
The press release says: « The recent extreme weather and rain overwhelmed the Detroit storm drain system and as a result caused flooding and water damage at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, largely confined to the basement levels. Assessments are underway, but out of an abundance of caution the DSO has closed the building until further notice. »
