Mit Debussys Six Epigraphes Antiques in einer sehr gelungenen Bearbeitung für Klavier und Flöte entführt uns Vincent Lucas mit evokativem, sehr sensuellem Spiel in die mysteriöse Welt dieser tonmalerischen Komposition.
Mit leichtem Schwung und unleugbarem Charme erklingen die Sonate und das Scherzo von Mel Bonis sowie die beiden Stücke von Fauré.
Roussels hinreißend gespielter Zyklus Joueurs de Flûte ist gleichermaßen eine Hommage an die Welt der Mythologie als an die französischen Komponisten, die sich um die Flöte verdient gemacht haben.
In Ravels Habanera, den beiden Werken von Caplet und dem wunderschönen Concertino von Cécile Chaminade löst Vincent Lucas mit starken sinnlichen Reizen Emotionen aus.
Und so ist dies eine wunderbare, überaus reizvolle und beseelt musizierte CD, auf welcher der Flötist die Musik glühen und leuchten lässt, dass sie wie ein Strom von Kraft und Geist durch uns zieht.
With Debussy’s Six Epigraphes Antiques in a very successful arrangement for piano and flute, Vincent Lucas’ evocative, very sensual playing takes us into the mysterious world of this tone-painting composition.
Mel Bonis’ Sonata and Scherzo, as well as the two pieces by Fauré, are heard with easy verve and undeniable charm.
Roussel’s ravishingly played cycle Joueurs de Flûte is as much a tribute to the world of mythology as it is to the French composers who contributed a lot to the flute repertoire.
