Der italienische Pianist Gabriele Leporatti hat für sein eigenes Label Etera Scarlatti-Sonaten aufgenommen. Er sieht diese als kleine Erzählungen, die Lebensfreude, Energie und Vitalität vermitteln.
Ein Dutzend dieser Sonaten hat Leporatti eingespielt. Er benutzt, wie andere vor ihm den modernen Flügel und statt einer historisierenden Musizierhaltung oder gar einer Dramatisierung des Materials zieht er Scarlattis eigene Äußerungen zu Rat. Diesen nach handelt es sich bei den Sonaten nicht um tiefschürfende Kompositionen, sondern lediglich um Scherzi, um geistreiche musikalische Witze. Italian pianist Gabriele Leporatti has recorded Scarlatti sonatas for his own label, Etera. He sees them as little narratives that convey joie de vivre, energy and vitality.
Leporatti has recorded a dozen of these sonatas. Like others before him, he uses the modern grand piano, and instead of a historicizing approach to music-making or even a dramatization of the material, he consults Scarlatti’s own statements.
