Jean Sibelius hat nicht nur wunderbare Symphonien geschrieben, sondern auch sehr gute Klaviermusik. Eero Heinonen, ein Landsmann von Sibelius, spielt die verschiedenen Werke mit großem Können und einem besonderen Gefühl für die unterschiedlichen Stimmungen. Das alles aber tut der Pianist quasi tiefenentspannt. Wie auf einer meditativen Reise nimmt er den Hörer durch einen ungewohnten, aber von wunderschönen Farben und Stimmungen geprägten Kosmos mit. Sibelius’ Kunst wird in jedem Moment spürbar. Sei es nun in den Impromptus op. 5, in der Sonatine, den 5 Morceaux op. 75 oder den Klavierstücken op. 24, Heinonen zeigt neben seinem untrüglichen Gespür für die klaren Linien auch parallel die Einflüsse eines Grieg oder Tchaikovsky wie auch die typischen skandinavischen Elemente. Der Pianist begeistert daher durch klar durchdachte und wohlausbalancierte Interpretationen.

Jean Sibelius has not only written wonderful symphonies, but also very good piano music. Eero Heinonen, a fellow countryman of Sibelius, plays the various works with great skill and a special feeling for the different moods. The pianist does all this in a deeply relaxed manner. As if on a meditative journey, he invites the listener to discover an unusual cosmos characterised by beautiful colors and atmospheres. Thus, Sibelius’ art becomes tangible in every moment. Be it in the Impromptus op. 5, in the Sonatine, the 5 Morceaux op. 75 or the Piano Pieces op. 24, Heinonen shows, in addition to his feeling for clear lines, the parallel influences of a Grieg or Tchaikovsky as well as the typical Scandinavian elements. The pianist inspires above all with his well thought-out and well-balanced interpretations.
