Il Gusto Barocco hat unter der Leitung des Cembalisten Jörg Halubek vier Konzerte von Johann Sebastian Bach eingespielt, das Violinkonzert in a-Moll BWV 1041, das D-Dur Cembalokonzert BWV 1054, das Konzert für 2 Cembali in c-Moll BWV 1060 und das Konzert für 2 Violinen in d-Moll BWV 1043.
Die Solopartien werden von den exzellenten Musikern des Ensembles gespielt: Leila Schayegh und Anaïs Chen, Violinen, sowie Jörg Halubek und Alexander Gergelyfi, Cembali. Die vier Konzerte werden jeweils umrahmt von den einzelnen Sätzen der Cello-Suite Nr. 3 in C-Dur BWV 1009. Diese Suite wird meisterlich von Jonathan Pesek dargeboten. So gut alle Interpretationen auch sind, es ist der optimistische, lebensbejahende Charakter von Bachs Musik, dem hier auf schönste und beste Weise gehuldigt wird und der in jedem Moment sehr kommunikativ und spontan in Szene gesetzt wird.
Eingefangen in einem sehr räumlichen, klaren und luftigen Klang ist dies eine CD, die Freude bereitet. Natürlich musiziert Il Gusto Barocco auf historischen Instrumenten und zeigt, wie toll die Musik dabei klingen kann.
Il Gusto Barocco, under the direction of harpsichordist Jörg Halubek, has recorded four concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, the Violin Concerto in A minor BWV 1041, the Harpsichord Concerto in D major BWV 1054, the Concerto for 2 Harpsichords in C minor BWV 1060 and the Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor BWV 1043. The solo parts are played by the excellent musicians of the ensemble: Leila Schayegh and Anaïs Chen, violins, and Jörg Halubek and Alexander Gergelyfi, harpsichords. Each of the four concertos are framed by the individual movements of Cello Suite No. 3 in C major BWV 1009, masterfully performed by Jonathan Pesek.
As good as all the interpretations are, it is the optimistic, life-affirming character of Bach’s music to which homage is paid here in the most beautiful and best way, and which is displayed in a very communicative and spontaneous manner at every moment.
Captured in a very spacious, clear and airy sound, this is a CD that is a joy to listen to. Of course, Il Gusto Barocco performs on period instruments and shows how great the music can sound in the process.
