Affetto und Barock gehen normalerweise gut zusammen und müssen das auch. Aber man kann alles übertreiben. Diese CD ist eine Übertreibung von der ersten bis zur letzten Nummer. Allein schon die Vermischung von Barockstücken und französischen Chansons aus dem 20. Jahrhundert funktioniert nicht gut, weil Stéphanie d’Oustrac so ziemlich alles über einen Leisten zieht, die Theatralik auf die Spitze treibt und nur lautstark bis hysterisch lamentiert oder klagt oder nur einfach außer sich gerät. Das ermüdet und enerviert. Die CD ist eine Qual.
Affetto and baroque usually go well together and must. But one can exaggerate everything. This CD is an exaggeration from the first number to the last. Just mixing baroque pieces and 20th century French chansons doesn’t work well, because Stéphanie d’Oustrac pretty much pulls everything over a bar, takes the theatricality to extremes and just laments or complains loudly to hysterically or just gets beside herself. This tires and enervates. The CD is a torture.
