The English National Opera announced a scheme for children and young people giving every under 18 year old the opportunity to get a free ticket for a Saturday performance of any ENO opera in the Balcony area of the theatre.
The announcement says: « For those of you aged 16 and 17 you can get one ticket for the Balcony of the London Coliseum for any Saturday opera performance in our 2018/19 Season. You’ll have your own ENO account and can book for as many operas as you want. (…) You’ll also become a member of our Access All Arias scheme which means that if you can’t make a Saturday performance or choose to sit elsewhere you can save up to 80% on a full price ticket. (…) If you are under 16 you will need to be accompanied by an adult and they can bring up to four under 16 year olds each time. These seats will be in the Balcony of the London Coliseum for any Saturday opera performance in our 2018/19 Season. »
There are 11 performances available, including Puccini’s La Bohème, Lehar’s Merry Widow and Mozart’s ‘Magic Flute’.
