Das französische Ensemble Canticum Novum hat sich einige japanische Musiker hinzugeholt, um mit ihnen ein interessantes Programm zu entwickeln, das Alte Musik entlang der Seidenstraße bis hin nach Japan präsentiert.
Shiruku, so der Album-Titel, ist japanisch und bedeutet ‘Seide’. So hört man denn Musik verschiedener Kulturräume, die durch die Seidenstraße verbunden wurden, mit japanischen Volksliedern, Berbermusik, sephardischen Gesängen und Renaissance-Liedern aus dem Mittelmeerraum.
Wie schon in Produktionen anderer Ensemble, etwa denen von Jordi Savall, ist dies ein Programm mit Bildern aus einer anderen Welt, die uns seltsam berühren.
Die Musik verlässt nie ganz den Bereich der Melancholie, und eine leichte Trauer ist sehr oft spürbar. Aber die Stimmungen, die so geschaffen werden, sorgen für innere Ruhe beim Hörer, sie haben eine quasi hypnotische Wirkung, sie hüllen uns ein. Also: eintauchen, abschalten, den Sinnen freien Lauf lassen, einfach mitgehen auf die Reise, zu der Canticum Novum einlädt.
Die Tonaufnahme hat den Raum, die Präzision und die Balance, um jedes Stück optimal zur Wirkung zu bringen.
The ensemble Canticum Novum has brought in some Japanese musicians to develop an interesting program with them, presenting early music along the Silk Road to Japan.
Shiruku, the title of the album, is Japanese and means ‘silk’. Thus, one hears music from different cultural areas that were connected by the Silk Road, with Japanese folk songs, Berber music, Sephardic chants and Renaissance songs from the Mediterranean.
As in productions by other ensembles, such as those of Jordi Savall, this is a program with images from another world that touch us strangely.
The music never quite leaves the realm of melancholy, and a slight sadness is very often palpable. But the moods thus created provide inner peace for the listener, they have a quasi-hypnotic effect, they envelop us. So: immerse yourself, switch off, let your senses run free, simply go along on the journey to Canticum Novum invites you.
