Eugene Symphony (Eugene, Oregon) has named Francesco Lecce-Chong as the orchestra’s new Music Director & Conductor, effective July 1, 2017 for a four-year term.
A native of Boulder, Colorado,Francesco Lecce-Chong, 29, is currently Assistant Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also maintains a close relationship with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra where he was Associate Conductor from 2011-2015.
When Lecce-Chong takes the post as Eugene Symphony’s eighth Music Director, he continues the legacy of previous Music Directors which includes Danail Rachev (2009-2017); Giancarlo Guerrero (2002-2009); Miguel Harth-Bedoya (1996-2002) and Marin Alsop (1989-1996).
