Romain Nosbaums gefälliges Programm mit einem Debussy-Schwerpunkt ist klanglich klar und schlank. Emotional hält sich der Pianist zurück. Seine Interpretationen werden primär vom Musikalischen bestimmt. Er spielt virtuos – ohne jede Schwerblütigkeit – und legt Wert auf eine Kantabilität ohne Süße, die ihren Reiz aus dem Fluidum und der Rhythmik erhält, aber auch mit Nachdenklichkeit für sich einnimmt.
Insgesamt ist dies ein Recital von großer, lebendiger Feinheit.
Well thought performances, with a lot of finesse. Nosbaum doesn’t add too much to the notes and fully relies on what the composers have written.
