The Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition (SISIVC) announced the six 2020 finalists who will compete in Shanghai next year. Usually held biannually in Shanghai, this 2020 edition of the competition was rescheduled due to the pandemic. In honor of the centennial of Isaac Stern’s birth last year, the competition is still titled as the 2020 Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition.
It has been transformed into a hybrid online and live format hosted over 2021 and 2022. The quarter-final and semi-final stages were held online between August 18-22, with the six finalists to travel to Shanghai in 2022 for the live final round.
