From June 2 to 13, 2025, six young conductors will compete in five rounds of the International Conducting Competition Rotterdam. They have prevailed against more than 175 applicants from over 50 countries: Luis Castillo-Briceño, Costa Rica, 1996; Yukuang Jin, China, 2000; Jakub Przybycień, Poland, 1995; Rodrigo Sámano Albarrán, Mexico, 1994; Miguel Sepúlveda, Portugal, 1998 and Sam Weller, Australia, 1998.

The jury, chaired by Deborah Borda (New York Philharmonic), includes: Iván Fischer, Brett Dean, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Han-na Chang, Eric Whitacre, Wolfgang Fink, Christina Pluhar and Pamela Rosenberg.

The participating ensembles include: Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the 18th Century, Klangforum Wien, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Laurens Symphony Chorus.
