The Finnish composer Jouni Kaipainen died last night at the age of 58 after a long illness. He composed in a style that has been described as a combination of expressionism and classicism. He wrote a number of concertos for various instruments, chamber music, and 4 symphonies. He left unfinished his 5th symphony, commissioned by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
