In a letter to colleges (among them music schools) with state funding, the Trumpism aids have clarified what is important: It’s not desirable to achieve « nebulous goals such as diversity, racial balancing, social justice, or equity ». Schools doing that risk to lose the state funding.
For fear of losing funding, many university leaders cower before the howling AH Trump and gutless duck defending the values they should be defending. Many university presidents and deans are issuing meek statements, shutting down long-standing programs, removing content from their websites. It’s a disaster recalling Nazi procedures in the thirties of the past century.
