Das Alinde Quartett setzt sein ambitiöses Schubert-Projekt – sämtliche Streichquartette bis zum 200. Todestag 2028 einzuspielen – fort. Album Nummer 2 bietet die drei Quartette D 173, D 94 und D 74 sowie eine zeitgenössische Hommage an Schubert von SJ Hanke: Fever Sketches. Die Eindringlichkeit der Interpretationen, die schon das erste Album geprägt hat, erreicht auch in dieser Aufnahme einen hohen Grad an musikalischer Durchdringung.
Binnen weniger Minuten gelingt es den Musikern immer wieder, eine ganz Palette von Evokationen und Emotionen zu schaffen – und das scheinbar spielend leicht.
Der Schubert des Alinde Quartett strahlt eine außergewöhnliche Natürlichkeit, Authentizität aus – als wäre diese Musik nicht anders zu spielen. Um sich auf diesem interpretatorischen Niveau zu bewegen, um eine derart spannende, packende Lektüre des Notentextes zu präsentieren, braucht es eine lange, intensive Beschäftigung mit dem Grundmaterial.

The Alinde Quartet continues its ambitious Schubert project – to record all string quartets until the 200th anniversary of his death in 2028. Album number 2 offers the three quartets D 173, D 94 and D 74 as well as a contemporary homage to Schubert by SJ Hanke: Fever Sketches. The urgency of the interpretations that already characterized the first album reaches a high level of musical penetration in this recording as well.
Within a few minutes, the musicians succeed again and again in creating a whole palette of evocations and emotions – and seemingly with ease. The Schubert of the Alinde Quartet radiates an extraordinary naturalness, authenticity – as if this music could not be played any other way. To perform at this level of interpretation, to present such an exciting, gripping reading of the musical text, requires a long, intensive study of the basic material.
Franz Schubert and his music are a real concern for the Alinde Quartet. You can feel that in every note, in every phrase. The four musicians are enthusiastic and passionate about their work.
It’s a passion that comes from deep within, never sounding put-on or artificial. The Alinde Quartet creates a wonderful change of moods without a break, always with a sharp eye on the whole. The communicative character of the interpretations does the rest to make this possibly a reference recording by 2028.
