France will increase the number of youth orchestras, notably in schools, Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture has announced. In the schools, the ministry wishes to create 250 new orchestras per year.
A special focus will be on the creation of youth orchestras in socially disadvantaged parts of France. The budget for those activities will be increased from 1.5 M € to over four million a year.
