François-Xavier Roth, 48, is extending his contract as Gürzenich-Kapellmeister and General Music Director of the City of Cologne until the end of the 2024/25 season with an option to extend this further to include the 2026/27 season. The French conductor has been in charge of the Gürzenich-Orchester and Cologne Opera for more than five seasons.
