Kléber Mesquida, president (PS) of the Hérault departmental council, announced a 100% cut in the budget allocated to culture in his department. Hérault, with an annual budget of 2 billion euros, of which the non-compulsory cultural portion represents between 5 and 6 million euros, will be the only department in France to allocate no money at all to culture by 2025.
