After the 100.000 Euro renovation of his office, Matthieu Gallet, CEO of the French Radio, has overtly spoken about possible ways to save money with both of the Radio’s orchestras. He currently sees three options: The so called National Orchestra (the one having Gatti as Music Director) could be brought into an autonomous structure, with part of its financing being assured by the Radio. He is also thinking about a merger of both orchestra, Gatti’s ‘National’ and Chung’s ‘Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France’ or of reducing the number of musicians.
