French Région Normandie has finalized the merger of the Orchestre régional de Normandie in Mondeville and the Orchestra of the Opera in Rouen, to facilitate the realization of projects despite the 130 kilometer which separate the two locations.
Nevertheless, the merged entity is not even half of what one could consider a normal symphony orchestra. In total both orchestras bring a total of approximately 60 musicians into the new structure.
