76-year-old American conductor Gerard Schwarz, Frost School of Music professor and music director of the Frost Symphony Orchestra, has renewed his contract as Music Director of the Eastern Music Festival (EMF) in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He joined EMF as music advisor in 2005, became principal conductor in 2006 and Music Director in 2008. His new contract extends through EMF’s 2026 season.
He is also Artistic and Music Director of the Palm Beach Symphony, Music Director of the All-Star Orchestra, Conductor Laureate of the Seattle Symphony and Conductor Emeritus of the Mostly Mozart Festival.
