It’s a very special concert which the Mariinsky Theatre organizes today in St. Petersburg. The Mariinsky Orchestra will be conducted by Gergiev and Edward Ioudenitch (11), with pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch (44) and violinist Maria Ioudenitch (19).
The young musicians come from a well-known musical family from Uzbekistan, yet Stanislav and his daughter Maria have the American nationality and live in the United States. 11 years old conducting prodigy Eduard Yudenich (see video here) is the half-brother of Stanislav and, thus, the uncle of Maria. He still lives in Tashkent. You got it? By the way: the name will appear also as Yudenich or Ioudenich. It’s all the same.
