Ticket sales have started for the inaugural concert of the new concert hall built in Moscow’s Zaryadye Park. Of course, it’s nobody else then Valery Gergiev who will conduct the concert on 8 September. Leaving out the Moscow orchestras, he invited his Mariinsky Orchestra from St- Petersburg to play. On the second day, 9 September, the Zaryadye Concert Hall stage will host Italian conductor Riccardo Muti with the Russian National Orchestra.
Gergiev was asked by Putin to supervise the whole project. The hall is a major construction in the park which was built on the site of the demolished hotel Russia, on the waterfront between pedestrian zones Kitai-Gorod and the Kremlin. The auditorium has 1,600 seats.
