Leipzig’s Gewandhaus Orchestra and Music Director Riccardo Chailly launch today their big fall tour. With four concerts in each of the cities of Vienna, London and Paris they present a Brahms cycle with soloists Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Leonidas Kavakos. The tour ends on November 9. The tour coincides with the release of the complete Brahms symphonies and concertos by Decca. The composer had a strong relation with Leipzig and his Gewandhaus Orchestra. As conductor and as pianist he came no less than sixteen times to Leipzig.
