Sergei Rachmaninovs Lieder bezeichnet Asmik Grigorian als « kleine Opern » bezeichnet. Und so singt die litauisch-armenische Sopranistin auch dieses Programm mit 19 Stücken, in denen sie eine große emotionale Bandbreite zeigt. Das gefühlvolle Engagement, die glühende Intensität und die vokaltechnische Qualität, mit der Grigorian ihre dramatisch angelegten Interpretationen darbietet, sind grandios.
Liebhaber russischen Liedguts werden mit diesem Programm auf ihre Kosten kommen. Die meisten dieser Lieder sind Liebeslieder, und Grigorian singt sie opernhaft und höchst leidenschaftlich, wobei sie auch in Momente von Ruhe und Besinnlichkeit absolut bezaubernd ist.
Der litauische Pianist Lukas Geniusas ist ein ihr dabei ein exzellenter Partner, der Rachmaninovs Klavierpart ebenso dramatisch gestaltet.
Sergei Rachmaninov’s songs are described by Asmik Grigorian as « little operas ». And so the Lithuanian-Armenian soprano also sings this program of 19 pieces in which she displays a wide emotional range. The soulful commitment, glowing intensity and vocal technical quality with which Grigorian presents her dramatically conceived interpretations are magnificent.
Lovers of Russian song will get their money’s worth with this program. Most of these songs are love songs, and Grigorian sings them operatically and most passionately, while also being absolutely enchanting in moments of quiet contemplation.
Lithuanian pianist Lukas Geniusas is an excellent partner to her in this, making Rachmaninov’s piano part equally dramatic.
