The record label Orchid Classics announces a three-disc partnership with the violinist Ilya Gringolts. Set to release three projects over the course of the next couple of years, Gringolts’ first project ‘Paganini 24 Caprices’ will be released on the label this winter. As winner of the 1998 International Violin Competition ‘Premio Paganini’, he received two special prizes for the youngest ever competitor to be placed in the final and the best interpreter of Paganini’s Caprices: it will be a disc to listen out for. Further recordings planned for the label will feature his Gringolts Quartet colleagues, and a concerto disc with the Copenhagen Philharmonic.
