On the occasion of the Heritage Days 2019, the Théâtre du Châtelet opened its doors for the first time to the public. The newly restored building with its beautiful main hall, the superb Foyer and the Nijinsky terrace decorated again for the first time in more than a century with four allegorical statues representing Dance, Music, Comedy and Drama, welcomed more than 5.000 visitors.
« It is essential for us to maintain a close relationship with the public. The Théâtre du Châtelet is that of all Parisians and Franciliens. The Heritage Days allowed us to reaffirm, after Parade, this willingness to open ourselves to all. We are convinced that culture, and a historic site like our Theatre, are vectors of emotion and social connection for all audiences, wherever they come from », said Artistic Director Ruth Mackenzie, and Director General Thomas Lauriot dit Prévost.
