Auf ihrem Debut-Album kehren die Musiker des Quartetts Latin Strings zu ihren lateinamerikanischen Wurzeln zurück und stellen ein in allen Hinsichten aufregendes Album mit Quartetten von Juan Antonio Sanchez (*1965) aus Chile, Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) aus Argentinien, Orlando Cardozo (*1970) aus Venezuela und Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887–1959) aus Brasilien vor. Sie zeigen damit, welch tolle Musik diese Komponisten komponiert haben und präsentieren ein Album, das ab der ersten Note von Sanchez bis zur letzten von Cardozo begeistert.
Wunderbar werden in ihren Werken sowohl lateinamerikanische wie auch afrikanische und europäische Einflüsse durchmischt und ergeben ein ganz besonderes Kolorit, das gerade durch das kompakte und griffige Spiel der Latin Strings hervorragend zur Geltung kommt. Die vier Musiker erweisen sich als erstklassige Botschafter ihrer Kultur, überraschen mit einem technisch wie rhythmisch brillanten Spiel und geben der Musik gerade durch ihre herben Interpretationen eine spezielle Dynamik und einen besonderen Flair.
On their debut album, the musicians of the Latin Strings Quartet return to their Latin American roots and present an album that is exciting in every way, with quartets by Juan Antonio Sanchez (*1965) from Chile, Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) from Argentina, Orlando Cardozo (*1970) from Venezuela and Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959) from Brazil. Latin American as well as African and European influences are wonderfully blended in their works, creating a very special coloration that is perfectly brought out by the compact and catchy playing of the Latin Strings. The four musicians prove to be first-class ambassadors of their culture, surprising the audience with their technically and rhythmically brilliant playing and giving the music a special dynamic and flair through their rigorous interpretations.
