Das britische ‘Penguin Café Orchestra’ entwickelte seit den 70er Jahren (und bis 1997)* einen ganz eigenen und eigenwilligen Musikstil, der Klassik und Avantgarde genauso einbezog wie Pop, Folk oder Ethno. Die auf dieser DVD enthaltene Aufführung des PCO wird durch Interviews und das Ballett ‘Still Life at the Penguin Café’ angereichert. Interessant und amüsant zugleich!
Celebrating the British Penguin Cafe Orchestra, a musical icon from the Seventies and up to 1997*, when its founder Simon Jeffes died, this video is a mixture of performance, ballet and documentary and as such it is interesting und entertaining as well.
* A successor ensemble was founded in 2009 and is called just Penguin Café.
