Michelle Debra

ICMA Jury member Michelle Debra passed away today, at the age of 73. Founder, in 1993, of the Belgian music magazine Crescendo, together with Bernadette Beyne (+ 2018), Michelle Debra was managing director of the magazine. In fact, her roles were manifold: editorial board member, editorial secretary, sales manager, scrupulous proof-reader, responsible of the news section of the magazine.

Michelle Debra was a Jury member in the Jury of the International Classical Music Awards and Vice-President from 2011 to 2024. President Remy Franck says: « Michelle was a member of the Jury for the ICMA, and long before that for the Cannes Classical Awards and MIDEM Classical Awards. She always engaged constructively with the work of the Jury, and her contribution was characterized not only by rigor and depth, but also by an unwavering commitment to integrity. In recognition of these merits, she was elected Vice-President. She was a beloved friend to us all, whose kindness and generosity will always be remembered. »
