The Gala concert of the International Music Awards 2016 takes place at the Kursaal in San Sebastian, on 1 April 2016, hosted by the Euskadi Orchestra (Basque National Orchestra) and Donostia 2016. The audience will experience two premieres. It is the first time that ICMA are able to present a world premiere performance, since the Artist of the Year, Christian Lindberg, has written a piece especially for this evening, The Tale of Kundraan.
The other innovation in the Gala concert is the presence of a very young soloist, since the Jury has this year given for the first time a Discovery Award for young musicians from 12 to 17, and this new adventure in collaboration with the International Music Academy of Liechtenstein, is inaugurated by a young Korean-Russian flutist, Nikolai Song.
