The Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw has announced an international competition for the design of an International Music Centre to be located close to Chopin’s birthplace in Zelazowa Wola, 50 km west of Warsaw.
The conceptual architectural design must take into account the spatial relationship with Chopin’s birthplace, which is the focal point of the historic park surrounding it.
The Centre will include a concert hall, recording studios, as well as educational and conference facilities.
Fryderyk Chopin was born in Zelazowa Wola on 1 March, 1810.
