Hungarian conductor Iván Fischer has launched a European orchestra academy for young musicians: the European Orchestra Academy. Sixteen musicians from European countries will be allowed to play for a year with the two orchestras Fischer directs, the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO).
This new collaboration between the two orchestras kicked off Monday evening, at the Bozar in Brussels with a special concert. The Budapest Festival Orchestra, which Fischer founded 30 years ago, was sharing the stage with the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) especially for this occasion.
