British cellist Jacob Shaw, who has been based in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2012, has created the Scandinavian Cello School. The aim of this new initiative is to help young cellists: « We support, educate and promote cellists aged from 16-25 years old. Cellists are welcome from all over the world to apply for various SCS projects or to become an SCS Young Artist. Our long term goal is to create a permanent center for cello in Scandinavia. »

Scandinavian Cello School is a non-profit organisation and participants receive a 100% scholarship for tuition costs at all SCS projects.

The first project is the SCS Cello Camp, Costa del Sol, with the support of Project Music Management. The camp will take place from 7-14 November 2016. Each participant will receive 3 private lessons from SCS director Jacob Shaw – as well as group sessions, educational trips and performance opportunities. Pirastro Strings will sponsor each cellist selected on the SCS Cello Camp. Each selected participant will receive Pirastro products on arrival – including a set of their new “Perpetual” cello strings (worth over 400 euro).

This is a unique cello camp with 100% tuition fee scholarships for 6 participants, born before the year 2000.
