Irish RTÉ today announced the Spanish conductor Jaime Martin (53) as Chief Conductor of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. This appointment is for three seasons and effective from September 2019. Jaime Martin new appointment comes alongside another new development for him, as he will also take up the role of Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in 2019/20. He will continue the role of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Gävle Symphony Orchestra which he has held since 2013.
